I have a 69 XR7 with the 351W 2V. I’m swapping out to a performer intake manifold and carburetor over to an edelbrock avs 2. I have the transmission kickdown bracket but I can’t seem to get the throttle cable bracket just right. I’m a little intimidated trying to build brackets so I thought I would see if anyone else has done anything like this.
You can get a Throttle Linkage Rod for like $12 on Summitracing, and for the return spring, if you want to keep it cheap, buy an L bracket from Lowes, mount that to the intake. Hope this helps!
This is one of the reasons I don’t like Edelbrock carburetors. You can find brackets at Summit racing that will give you the mount for your throttle cable and the return springs. You may also be able to find them at your local O’Reillys or Car Quest.
This is one that I know works; Summit Racing SUM-G1419 Summit Racing™ Carburetor Linkage Plates | Summit Racing
Well I purchased that bracket from summit and my throttle still wasn’t lining up just right. So I ended up getting a piece of angle iron and fabricating a bracket myself.
