I just ordered a edelbrock torker 289 intake and a holley 600 for my 302. Has anyone used this setup or has any suggestions? Thanks

The intake will most likely be much taller than the stock manifold and may cause hood clearance issues. Hopefully someone in the know will chime in.

You’ll also lose a bunch of your low-end torque, but it’ll scream at 4000rpm+ (until your cam/exhaust run out).

One has to wonder what your intentions are with your car. Street, street/strip, drag only???.. What has been done to the engine/trans/rear gear?

what kind of 600cfm? manual or vacuum?

My intentions are street performance. And it’s Vacuum

X2… a dual plane manifold like the Performer or Performer RPM are better suited for the street. They start working at a much lower RPM.

Okay, i went with the performer. Should be here tommorrow, i already have the holley. Im going to throw em in this weekend. Hopefully ill have this cat on the prowl by next week! Thanks for the advice… I shouldve done more research.

i have a dual plane performer RPM with a 600 vac secondaries holley, i love it.

I just installed the performer intake and the holley 600. I have 2 dead cylinders now. 3 and 8. They have spark and i also did a compression check, both good. I have all of the original ignition components installed, could this be a problem even though its only those two cylinders? Also, its the cylinders that both use the rear of the lower plane on the manifold… frustration is getting the best of me any suggestions are very welcome thanks.

check and double check your firing order to be sure you got the right wires on the right plugs. And on the cap too.

I swapped the plugs from a good cylinder… That wouldve been nice though. Yes my firing order is correct. Could it have anything to do with my fuel pump or the possibly restrictive inline filter to the carb?

So i ordered a new cap, rotor and wires and i’m gonna throw those on today.

Yep, vacuum leak at the junction. It was the headlights. Wow what a difference.Thanks for the replies! This cats gonna be rippin it up in no time
