Sounds like a load of CODSWALLOP!
Haven’t been on the forums for a while. Nice to see things haven’t changed!
I remember my first experience down there was not a good one.
After ranting about it on the forum, I must say I have had a good time every year after.
This year I’ll be bringing the cougar.
Looking forward to see everyone again and meeting some of the new guys
Wow Ray, glad to see you are going to make it down! Not sure what happened to ya the first year, but I remember you mentioning it on MC.net and I was thinking “weird, I thought our group was pretty receptive”. The only thing I could say is somehow the timing must have been off for paths to cross properly. Most of us try to go out of our way to make sure there is room in the circle for more to join the party. It’s possible that during the day most are in “swap meet search mode” and sun beaten, or holding up tent posts during a mini-hurricane. Either way, I’m glad our paths did cross. See-ya soon.
Ray? Ray who??? Driving a Cougar? BS!!! Wazzup, Ray???
Yeah Mo still driving the cougar, in fact I just put in Power R&P and looking to put in an AOD later this month… .
I’m retiring this month so I’ll have time to finish the stang and then start a new project.
I was there holding up the tent in the T-storm. That was my second year out there.
Where is everyone staying this year. hopefully not the Hotel Carlisle!
Yeah, Hotel Carlisle.
You can check out any time you like…but you can never leave…
It’s the smell that never leaves. Or the shock from only cold water in the shower.
Ha, not me. After last year I said I’d never go there again! I’ll see you at the show boys and girls!
Hey Ray, how about Bob Evan’s?
My wife and I said that exact thing after staying there in 2011 and we were in the annex which is a tiny bit better than the rest of the dump. We are staying on the other side of Carlisle - about as far away from HC as you can get (and that is the way we like it!). We are actually just a tad closer to the fairgrounds than HC is, just on the opposite side of Carlisle. I know the Cougar faithful “like” (in some fashion) staying at HC, BS in the parking lot until the wee hours, etc., but COME ON!!! That place is the worst!!!
looks like a pretty nice vert will be for sale at the show.
Car will be at all ford Carlise June 5 through 9 at spots L31,32,33 for inspection.
Does look pretty nice. Only flag I will mention is that Gry from Norway had problems with this seller peddling some rare G engine? parts that were not what they were being sold as if I remember correctly.
I was remiss in getting my reservations and ended up having to settle for the Rodeway Hotel.
Too bad the weather is not looking to good on Friday
Yeah, bummer. I do not relish driving Isabel 3 hours in the rain (but guess I will). I don’t mind her getting wet from rain sitting still at all but road grime thrown up underneath by rainwater is a mess and accelerates the decline of a completely detailed undercarriage. I try to keep such things in check with cleanup work on the lift underneath but it is pretty much futile to expect that such decline can be prevented altogether
UPDATE!!! I am NOT going to Carlisle!!!
Until tomorrow morning that is.
I decided not to subject Isabel (most of all), myself, my wife and my dogs to a crappy commute in the rain just to sit (or not sit) in the rain at Carlisle. Weather forecast has the rain clearing out by 1 am Saturday so I will go early tomorrow morning instead.
Again, I repeat, I am NOT going to Carlisle!!!.. until tomorrow morning…
Just left there at 3pm, chilly wet, where is everyone and their cars and junk for sale…maybe 5-6 cougars there…total. Did look at a 67 chevelle for sale though.
You know how cats are…afraid to get their paws wet and dirty.
Bad year for Carlisle, usually some rain but NOT like this! See you tomorrow.
