Hi all,
Can a TKO 6000 replace a factory 4spd toploader in a 67 GT without any cutting? If cutting is required then I’ll forget about it.
Thanks
I know there’s no cutting with the T5.
I have a TKO-600 in my 69. No cutting. I’d call modern driveline and speak with them. They are the experts.
Agree. Call Modern Driveline, they are real experts. TKO600 replaced my top loader. No cutting or mod. 1970
Had to cut the unibody reinforcement for the cross member to fit the TKO-600 into Isabel. Dunno, maybe it is because she’s a 'vert?
I replaced a C4 with a TKO600 in my 68 standard with a 302 using Modern Driveline last summer. The only body modifications I had to make was to the firewall for the clutch master cylinder holes (just a knock out and drill two 5/16" holes), and change the transmission crossmember.
I got a quote from Modern Driveline and it was close to six grand for the conversion on My 67 GT. I decided to go with a toploader. I have a bell housing, a 15K mile toploader, flywheel, Hurst shifter, boots, and yolk. All for under 1K. Need a drive shaft, u joints, clutch, pressure plate and pedals. I think Im going to use a hydraulic master cylinder. I should be all in for under 2.5 K.
