Custom 68 700ish HP

Just ran across this and thought I’d share

I watched that earlier today and enjoyed it. I saw the car at the Detroit Autorama last year and it was very impressive up close.

11000 hours with a shop rate of $100/hr. Damn.

I like the rear exhaust ports styling queue, from the 1969-70 Shelby Mustang.
Chrome bumpers and door handles, but no side mirrors?
Very much like the flush mounted windshield.
The post production editing totally goofed the tail light explanation from the builder.

In my mind, the total cost to build this car is equivalent to what it would cost to purchase the following: 2005 Ford GT, 1968 Mercury Cougar GT-E 427 XR7, 1967 Shelby GT500, 1968 Mercury Cougar Hertz XR7-G, and cash left over.
It is a very nice custom Cougar, but I would take the equivalent.

It was at Barrett Jackson this year in the cup competition.

Hi!
WOW what a car!
The only bad thing about it, It’s I feel sad when I look and compare this with my '67 on going project.
Thanks for sharing !

All I will say is: Too much Mustang, not enough Cougar.

When I ride my snowmobile or motorcycle I never go without my helmet. This car needs more than just a lap belt. The more safety equipment I have, the faster I go.

Great expression of what can be done with these cars.
I get the feeling that these kinds of cars are likely never driven such that anything more than a lap belt is needed.
I’d want at least a shoulder belt no matter what …but these show queens are just that.
I drive my 69 'vert once a week or so and I recognize that every trip could easily end in death just for lack of a shoulder belt.

Garage queen?
