hey everyone, i am working for a manuafactuer now and i my 69 is going in to see what needs done to moddify their mustang 4 link setup for the cougar, i wanted to see what intrest from you guys might have . justin
Geometry is the big deal for me. Something that just bolts in where the leaf springs went is neato, but my focus is on results.
Tuning and geometry are enough to tip me into just welding one in instead of playing with something that’s just a half measure.
Price is also a consideration.
shaman, so you are aware, the company is heidts and it would be there kit http://www.heidts.com/Scripts/default.asp
cool, thanks for the link.
no problem
to the top, this is a done deal, and the kit, is price is 1395.00 + options
Problem I have with bolt in kits is that over time they tend to “oval out” the bolt holes drilled into the existing frame… If you do a bolt in; which are VERY easy and user-friendly; I suggest also stitch welding into place. This way the bolts don’t loosen up as bad, and it doesn’t jiggle around damaging those holes. In my opinion.
I personally am going with the Calvert Racing leaf springs system. I’m also going to install an anti-roll bar system. This should actually end up being more cost effective with the same results. Except the main suspension components are entirely bolt in without worry of drilling holes in the frame rails. I will have to weld my anti-roll bar in, but it will look clean when it’s done.

Sounds like a really good deal to me. Always good to have choices!
Are you putting it in your car/ Feedback please and what options are available at what $?
Thank you for all the inside scoop.
One for the 68 would be cool!
oldwood, it is going in my car, winter bit me in the ass ! my car got stuck outside with no chassis, this all transpired as i lost my dad in sept. i have been one busy individual! i am trying to get the car mobile to get it to my freinds shop to get the car put together so i can complete the install and really show everyone. the best pictures i have of it right now are in http://www.mercurycougar.net/forums/showthread.php?70186-Direct-fit-4-link-interest/page2 onpost #19 . that is still a mustang pictured though, the only differance is the longer bars.
