Front sway bar info?

What size sway bar is on a 1968 cougar 302 c4 ?

What size should i move up to 1inch or 1 1/8 ?

Stock was 3/4” for 289/302. Bigger isn’t always better - 1” probably more than enough. Boss 302 used 15/16”. Depends what you are doing too.

Actually the 289 / 302 Cougars used a 11/16" diameter sway bar originally. 7/8" would be a strong upgrade. A rear sway bar maybe 1/2" diameter will help too.

Depends on what you’re trying to do.
If you’re trying to control body roll a bit more, you can go up a bit. Increase in diameter has the biggest impact on body control which is why they are separated by 1/16 inch increments.

Best thing I did was doing subframe connectors and a 1.125" front sway bar. Car is so much tighter and handles like a dream.

Thanks everyone for the input .
Thinking on doing the 1 inch front …
Where and who makes frame connectors for
The 68 cougar and also who makes a rear sway bar for it ?

Thanks everyone.

Where did you get your sway bar and frame connectors?
Who makes a rear sway bar?

NPD has the Frame Connectors

Several companies make a rear sway bar kit for these cars. You want to avoid the cheapie ones with the U bolt that goes through the rear frame rails. Those rip out easily, then you have to do a expensive weld repair to fix the rear frame rails.

This one looks pretty good:
