GEARZ / Stacey David 67 Cougar Build Updates Here!

I like them as well, they remind me of the 72 Buick Riviera door handles, very classy.

Weren’t they like $300 handles or something ridiculous?

I’m not sure about the lettering on the stripe. Maybe when I see the whole package it’ll look better.
Steven

Ya, after you commented on the lettering, I went back and I agree. It at least should have been Italic or even a different font.

I like it. A modern font for a modern car. It’s not like this car is a throwback to an old era, with a 20,000 HP engine and all.

Ahhh, it should have style, it should have flair…wait a minute, that kind of sounds like the theme song for the Nanny.

It does have style! It says “no nonsense”. It just says what it says and lets the car do the talking. I like it. Compliments the nice straight lines of the original Cougar body style with a nice straight font. More original, too.

Dude, you are just so back in the 2012’s. Blacked-out-crinkle-finish windows rule!!! :ylsuper:

I agree Steven, it is a question of style, not sure if it is “just the thing”. Like another poster said, maybe if it were italic.

I just feel that the font and the location looked better on the rendering, at least at this point. When I first saw the rendering that was done for this project it reminded me of Sean’s beautiful resto-mod Cougar. The stripes on the side of the Interceptor rendering looked similar to his and the font style was about the same. The engine sticking out of the hood…again reminded me of Sean’s Cougar(I know his engine isn’t a Boss 9  ).

The V8 Interceptor is a cool project, afterall it’s a “Black Cat” :ylsuper: .
I look forward to seeing more episodes on Gearz.

I like the lettering. It’s nice and clean and it stands out well.

Looks good to me. Perhaps they are going to highlight it with pins…make it pop a little more.

I see the “lovely” exhaust treatment wasn’t part of the original concept. At least that’s something easy to fix.

Dare I say the stripe and letters resemble a YENKO.

Actually, yes in some ways. The YENKO is a good example of what I was talking about with the lettering. A different font, with a slight Italic to it and all capitals to give it some authority. Im not saying that I don’t like what has been done, it’s not my car. Im just saying, a different option may have been better for my taste.

While looking at the concept drawing, did anyone see that the artist made the headlight grills crooked?

Nice! Well to be fair, he didn’t know the electronic headlight kit was gonna be available.

I didn’t notice till you pointed it out. I wonder if this drawing started out with the import of a real photo into his drawing program. If not his attention to detail is remarkable.

^^^ I think you nailed it Steven - looks to me like the artist Photoshopped an actual picture. Look at the front bumper.

Philip I noticed that also. It looks the same on the drivers side fender with the reflections. I figured you might be in the “know” about this kind of thing because of your Cougar drawings.
