GEARZ / Stacey David 67 Cougar Build Updates Here!

Update from Stacey! Looks like the V8 Interceptor is coming along nicely… here’s what he wrote:

I just thought I would send you a teaser picture of what this thing is going together like. I’ll send you better, more detailed pics as we take ‘em. The bumpers still need to be rechromed (after being tucked and fitted to the body) and a bunch of other tweaks, but you get the idea. I am getting ready to dig into the interior this week, and it’s going to be pretty wild……especially the dash. I featured WCCC and the electric headlight conversion kit on the last show, so you should be getting a bunch of traffic on that when it airs. We will let you know when it is coming up.

Humeda, humeda, humeda…

(I am speechless!)

Glad to see the progress picture. It looks great so far. I can’t wait to see the complete project. Thanks for the update.

Wow. That thing has the straightest grille ever. Can’t say that I care for the 8-stack, or the side-pipes, but, it’s not my car, so…

Todd that grille is straight because of the electronic headlight kit. And no joke, mine is actually straighter, both sides. I actually stood and stared at it for a couple minutes last night, just in awe, when I was done working on her for the night. The adjustable arms on the headlight kit are the cat’s meow!

Oh and *%^# yeah that thing looks great! So glad he changed the color, huge improvement

That does look great! I would like to see what they did to make the bumpers fit better. The grill does look good but the small outside parts are still in need of help.

I’m with you on that 3. Still overall a pretty impressive build.

Glad mo pointed out the side pipes, I couldn’t see them past the 8 stack  but the pipes don’t bother me as much. Still a nice looking car and I wouldn’t be upset if they dropped it off in my driveway even if it is one of those smaller version cat’s :poke: Wait till that show hits the air and watch all the prices go up, will be good to see some more on air cat coverage :smoke:

Velocity stacks are not unprecedented on a Cougar :ylsuper:

I wouldn’t care if he’s the first to ever do stacks and pipes. I think it looks mean and very faithful to the rough hewn cars that chased Max on behalf of Lord Humongous.

Love the chromed hood trim

I would like to see a rear end shot. Looks like they brought the spoiler ends down to the quarter panels like the 69 prototype Eliminator. Very cool!
I like the way the stacks step up in height. Bet it looks better from the side of the Cougar.

I am impressed. I did not think I was going to like it and still not crazy about the stacks but it is a bad a$$ car!
I can see a couple of headlight kits in my future.

Don’t get me wrong, it does look impressive. It just isn’t something I personally would pick…Uncle Stang(R.I.P.) actually had an EFI 8-stack for his 65 fastback project he was working on before passing. Dunno what Cuz-Stang is going to do with it. It smacks of attitude, and the car that has them, better be able to back them up, IMO! (No problems there with the Gearz car, or Uncle Stangs, which has a 408W waiting to go in…).

Didn’t want y’all thinking I was picking it apart, or anything!

That’s why they make chocolate and vanilla ice cream, brah.

We all like what we like.

Hmmm, I could go for a chocolate bra…errrr…wrong forum…'pologies…

Eggs-actly, Andy, exactly. “Personal” mods rock…

in deference to the olden days of MCN … Ed Zachary
