Global west eccentric lockout... where to start?

I’m rebuilding the front suspension on the 68 x-code. I have the global West eccentric lock out kit for the lower control arms.
The instructions arnt really helpfull…
Anyone know where a good start is to get to the 1/2 negative camber. It’s numbered 1-6
Thanks,
John-

Do what I did to my Shelby. Take it to the alignment shop and let them do it for you. There are six possible positions with them. It cost me 300.00 in labor to have them done on my Shelby. You don’t just guess. They have to dial in the camber.

I have them on my 69 XR-7, but i also have their tubular control arms and arning drop, so i’m not sure my setting would help.

I think it’s in #4 now.

I put mine on in the middle of the range and drove 1/2 mile to the alignment shop. Unless you have a good camber gauge and know how to use it, best to let someone else do it.

I plan to invest in one of these to make my own changes as needed.

I also have the Arning drop on my Shelby. I purchased the Global West units because of the big block and I am also running the global west 1" drop springs with the 1/2" Global West spacers. The unit doesn’t really lock out the adjustment, it removes the camming action that is known for losing adjustment. Every vehicle has a different position and some left and right will be different.

I have one of these for sale - only used it a couple times to set up my car.

Also have the bump steer gauge

Funny, I do my own alignments and have kept the 51-year old eccentrics. Kick me for intruding on the thread, I deserve it.

No kicking. I do my own alignments too.
I was just looking for a starting point since it’s not infinitely adjustable like the original.
But now that I sold my 60 t-bird I’m now going with the global west upper / lower control arm setup so it will probably need to go to a real alignment shop

Even eccentrics are not infinitely adjustable. I am running factory style uppers and lowers with the weld-on plates.
I didn’t want to stray from the OE design. At least at a glance casual eye. The nice thing is with the FE and crappy roads they don’t lose adjustment with the global west kit. It was a 330.00 alignment to get them dialed in. I know it took them 2.5 hours to get it right.
However, they did make one mistake. They took two inches of adjustment from the driver’s side tie rod assembly so I am taking it back and have them fix that being I lost about a half a turn radius steering and the turning radius to the right is less than left.

Well this is a bummer. Guess they packed the wrong template for the GW upper control arm drop
Must be for earlier mustangs
Doah!

That isn’t a Global West Eccentric Lock outs. However, that is the 65-66 mustang template. If you need a '67 and later I have one… Somewhere.
My Shelby has the Arning drop as well. There are specific alignment specifications when you drop the arms. make SURE you follow the amended specifications or the car handles like crap.

I was only going to put the eccentrics in but got some extra $$ and now I also bought the rest of the global west front end. Not the full coil over kit.
Lowering springs
Scott drake performance spring purch
Boxed lower arm spf-3
Positive caster upper control arm mnr-733
Adjustable strut rod asr-6

Now I just need to buy some time…which is getting more and more expensive these days…

I fly for a living. Tell me about it. There are times I only see a day and a half at home a week.
