LOL, M-Don, I’m sure you’ve seen it over on mc.net…but I’ll work on some links tomorrow for you. Can’t access my old posts over there right now…cough…
It’s a 68 Std, 302, 4 speed. Started off polar white/blue decor, but is now HOK Galaxy grey/Brandywine Kandy with black interior…yanked and replaced the stock 302 with a “warmed up” one…keeping the toploader, if I can ever figure a mount for my hydraulic slave…think I’ve got it dialed in now, just have to whittle it out of a chunk of metal.
About it, really…oh, I did score an SSBC front power brake kit, and did the Crown Vic conversion on the rear. Would like to upgrade to a 9" someday, but, I’ll have to stumble across a steal to do it. It’s just the way I am. “Patience, Daniel san!” A better deal always comes along.
Absolutely beautiful! I am trying to avoid coming to grips with the fact that the rear main seal in the 390 I put in my '67 XR7 GT is a leaker… I really don’t want to pull the motor, and the trans.
Bill B-Thanks, and I feel your pain. I took a chance on the toploader being “OK”…turns out, it leaks. So, with any luck, I’ll get it driving this summer, and when the cold wind comes sweeping down the plains, I’ll yank it, and send it down to Wilson, OK to Toploader Heaven…close enough to drive it there, and he’s reasonably priced on an overhaul.
Steven-Thanks! I debated long and hard between what it ended up being, and the HOK Cobalt Blue Kandy color…still not sure I picked right, but, it is pretty sharp! And, theres always the blue for the NEXT one!
M-Don- Nope, not finished yet, but closer! Waiting on the stinking rear wheels/tires. Wheels are on b/o, I shot that pic with both fronts on one side, for effect.
Jean- The CatCave we built last summer, about this time. The pics in the garage during paint are in the “attached” garage which was surrendered to the wife last year…it’s now “hers”, and she is gracious enough to let me park my truck in there at night. LOL. So, yes, there are more doors to the right!
Thanks again, to all! I’m sure I’ll be plugging you all for information. Speaking of, hey Bill, why don’t you send me one of your assembled cars to use as a “guide” while I put this thing back together? Took me FOREVER to figure how/where all the roof rail trim went on today. The manual drawings leave much to be desired! LOL
Making headway on The Heap(Local Hero’s moniker for my everlasting gobstopper of a project).
Purchased “blemished” hood/trunk trim sets from WCCC…what can I say, but, WOW…can’t imagine what NOT blemished looks like, cuz these are like mirrors compared to what I had. Lots of new seals, parts and pieces going on. Almost done with the hydro clutch setup for the toploader. Waiting for the paint on my reservoir bracket to dry, then plumb it up. OVH the trans, stick it in(again), finish up the brake lines, pass. fender, w/s, bumpers, and it’s DRIVE time…oh…seat install, too. LMAO!
For the hydro clutch, I had my father in law drill and tap the lower lip of my bell housing to attach a “pusher” slave cylinder…think it’s going to work dandy that way. Attaches quite firmly to the lip. Will get pics when I can remember to bring my card home from work(downloads are faster there!).
