Holley Sniper and MSD Ignition Conversion '70 351C-4V

Thanks Royce,
The WOT is currently running at 32 deg. (the low end of Holley’s recommendation) with no apparent issue. The Cruise timing is currently at 36, so I’ll bump it up to 38 for now.
I know preignition (knock) can be very hard on an engine but I’ve been assuming that I’ll hear it and can back off. The “hearing it” expectation is based on the way my H code 351C would sound under load if I got the timing just a bit too far advanced on regular gas. Should I be more cautious? I’ve been planning on moving it up a little at a time while being especially observant for any pinging throughout a variety of driving conditions.

The 2V heads should keep you in the realm of using 92 octane fuel. It’s not likely to ping in cool weather. More likely in the summertime with the AC on and four people inside.
