Cannot figure out how to search previous topics.
Click on the magnifying glass up top to open the Search drop-down.
Click on the âhamburgerâ (3 horizontal lines) in the top right corner to enter âAdvanced Searchâ.
Now I feel dumb. I was trying to use the search in all tags. Thank you for showing me the way.
What bothers me is that any old links you may have saved or bookmarked no longer work. And you canât seem to just search by the old topic ID. So if you donât have the title of the thread saved too, your old bookmark is trash. :-/
What do you mean by topic ID?
So, for example, I have this bookmark for the old forum, and itâs broken.

T=12476 would have been the topic ID, which would pull up the post on the old forum. But that topic ID# doesnât take me to the right post on the new forum.
Fortunately, my bookmark name includes the name of the original post / topic: âwondering if it still existsâ. So if I do a forum search for that topic name I get the following hitâŚ

The topic ID# is now 12112 for that same topic.
But I canât just paste the old topic ID number into a link for the new forum to get to the same post as before. I have to know the name and do a search in order to find the old posts I have bookmarked.

^^Using just the new topic ID works and gets me to the right post.

^^ Using the OLD topic ID takes me to the wrong place ~ and in many cases does work at all!
I believe the Topic ID is a place marker in the database. If this is the case the old ID will not work in the new database. Your topic moved without leaving a change of address card.
Pretty much!
I keep learning new things. I wonder if Jay could write a script that could match them up or something. Of course that might be a 100 hour projectâŚ
