Hmmm…nobody has mentioned that they still view a black and white TV…
My God!!! What do you think we are? Barbarians? Cave Dwellers? LOL!!!
LOL!!! You can NEVER go wrong with Monty Python.
Color TV, yes, but a roof antenna and no cable or dishy-thingy nonsense. And a land line that I will NOT give up, no matter how hard the husband pushes to get rid of it. I also listen to my tapes in my cars all the time…all the scratches and skips from the albums they were recorded from are right where they belong. Much of my jewelry is 10 or more years older than the girls I work with, as is my “new” Ford Explorer (the '93). And NO ONE, I mean NO ONE I work with can drive a car with a manual transmission. Sigh. I had to show one of the girls how to check her oil – WTF? She wasn’t even sure how to open the hood of her car. Why didn’t her dad teach her that $hit? Some woman from her work had to show her that?! What is the world coming to?
I think that a lot of parents aren’t teaching their kids these things because they either don’t or don’t know how to themselves.
I call it “missed opportunities in teaching self reliance”.
Do you have running water where you live? G
As far as Cable TV goes, there’s 197 channels, all of them not worth watching.
I’m so old school that I believe…
…in opening the door for a woman …
…fishing with my buddies is better than most things I’ve done…
…a slow boat ride on a placid lake at sunset is the most relaxing thing one can do …
…establishing, then living up to family traditions is a central value …
…being happy with what you have, rather than what you want, is the highest joy …
