I have a 1970 Mustang, yeah, not a cougar but a lot is the same, with factory air. The eyeball A/C vents just spin around and wont stay in place. Any ideas on how to tighten them up?
Thank you!!!

Here’s a topic I started when I was doing the same repair along with replacing some disintegrated flex ducting. Near the end I describe how I removed the ball louver and reassembled it.
For the material I used the fuzzy part of some self-adhering velcro. The ball drag ended up perfect.
I wish I had thought of not removing the stud that goes into the slotted tab on the retaining ring.
As you can tell by the picture and the name, I too exploit the similarities between the Mustang and the Cougar.
Welcome, and I’m sure you’ll find lots of good advice here.
Thank you!!!
Great ideas in that!!
