Coming up quick, FINALLY, I’ll be there…
Would like to attend that sometime, but not this time. Have fun and be on the look out for George Huisman owner of Classic Design Concepts that’s sponsoring the car show. Ask him about his Cougars as he has some nice ones hint hint…
This article was on his brother Hank awhile back.

Will keep an eye out, Brian!
Hank is here at Carlisle this weekend.
Well, it’s off and running! Went for my registration packet last night, and what a SMOOOOTH process that was! Pre-registered? Yup. Sign here. Go here. Go there. DONE. All of 5 minutes. NICE!
TONS of nice cars…taking tomorrow off to go out to Hallett Raceway for the day, should be fun.
Curious if Royce came up, since he lives in TX now…
Hopefully, you’re taking some pictures
The funny thing about that show, it is not even a part of SAAC (Shelby American Auto Club). They don’t want to be.
Brian-I’ll burn up my camera tomorrow! Today, I’m stuck at work…:hide:…
Scott-In the “goodie bag” of schtuff they handed out last night is a bit of the history of how it got started. IIRC, a couple of guys here in the area went to an SAAC event, and decided to have a “regional” type of thing. Started off with sending out postcards to come to a “picnic”. Think the first one they had resulted in twenty something cars showing up, and was held in the OkC area. I forget which year it moved to Tulsa. “And the rest, is history…”
Oh, “cruise” is tonight, I’ll be going to that also. Good thing my camera is in my car!
All I can say is WOW…talk about a ton of nice cars! One of the “officials” said 2000+.
Cruise night was super cool, though I didn’t do the escorted “parade”…went straight to the meeting place from work. Plus side of that, I didn’t have to worry about overheating issues, as there were many spewing radiators! It was awesome watching them all roll around the last corner to the parking areas, though, so next year, parade it will be!
Track day tomorrow, pics tomorrow night, but for now, it’s bedtime!
Last time I went to this event it was the 17th annual meet. They had not added the “All Ford” to the name yet’ It was fun then, good to know it is still going strong. The Drag races at Tulsa International were fun to watch.
Track day #2 was awesome. Lived here my whole life, and had NEVER been to Hallett Raceway…greivous error on my part. Those guys THRASH on their cars! I’ve a couple vids of the Vintage race and the Late Model race, will upload soon! Super cool! (although my videography skills with only a blackberry suck!) May sign up next year for the “Group III” class…no passing allowed! Kind of a high-speed guided tour…, no track experience here, so, good Group to wet my feet in.
On a Heap note, that was the longest road-trip in one stretch for my car, and made it no problem…until we left. Traffic to get back on the highway to Tulsa was terrible. Sat on the entry ramp for about half an hour, at idle. It wasn’t overly warm, so that was a plus, but my temp guage started creeping up…darn near made it to the “T” in “TEMP”!!! LOL…I’d say it’s cooling quite well!
Drags are tomorrow, going to sneak over there for a short while, then promised to take son #1 to see Hunger Games…(looking forward to that, as it was a pretty good read), then, may sneak back over there afterwards.
This is fun stuff!!!
Drags yesterday a.m. were cool, but the swap meet was my highlight. I scored a PAIR of new-in-their-packaging rear marker reflectors for $15 each! Dunno where the guy came across them, but was more than happy to save $100 on the pair(WCCC net price 65 and some change each). Came home and put them on right away! Watched about a half-dozen passes on the strip, and then had to keep my appointment with my boy.
Movie was good, though, and we both had a good time gorging on theatre junk.
Show day today, most Cougars I’ve ever seen in one spot, and there were only four of us! Three 67’s, and my 68. One standard, one XR7, and one GT. The GT was beautiful, and had been upgraded from the 390 to a 428CJ. Sounded great, and the owner(name escaping me at the moment) was super nice. We also had two Capri’s, a 98 Lincoln MK VIII, and a Comet in our group. The Mk was sweet, fellow had added a supercharger(and beefed up the internals), and it sounded SICK!(in a good way!) The Capri’s were even pretty nice.
Pics are uploading, so, will get those linked soon!
A’ight, here you go…

Vids will be loaded tomorrow at work. The Vintage race…wow. There is even a little “English” Ford with a 4 banger Cosworth that led the first three or four laps, but then fell back. Quick little bugger.
Thanks for the report T3, sounds like a good time.
Yup, sure was, Chris!
Get that R-code down here next year!!!
26 hours is a long trip, but I’ll never say never!
I may be out that way in the fall (I’ve got a customer in Thomas & my visit is overdue), so maybe we can get togeteher depending on how the flights line up (Tulsa vs. OKC).
Sure thing!
Vids now posted, brief as they are:

Only had my blackblurry, as Mark is fond of calling it……
I’ve another wide-view of the late-model race, but recorded long enough that the file is too large to email off of my phone…sooooo, soon as I figure that one out, I’ll load it up.
Thanks for the pic’s it sure looks like a fun weekend.
Nice, thanks for the upload Mo.
I came in second in the vintage race in 2008. I know most of those guys, from Corinthian Vintage group. (CVAR)
Hey, I saw all their stickers on their cars, Art! Wondered what that was all about, I’ll have to check it out!
Vintage race was just the cats azzzzz!!! Flogging those classics like they were meant to be……I’d be tempted to try Group II, iffin they made replacement body panels for ours! As it is, I’ll wet my feet in the no-passing Group III next year!
Brian- I’ll do better on pics next year! Was befuddled with all the cool stuff, and forgot half the time I had a camera with me!
