Here we go! I have an 351W block laying around and I decided to have it built into a 410 stroker producing about 500hp to drop into my 67 XR7. I’m looking for recommendations for the drivetrain. I’d like to go to the 4 speed AOD transmission. What would I need to do to make the tranny hold up and what is recommended for the rearend gears and some type of limited slip(sorry, i’m not sure on the terminology) for this setup. Thanks!
Skip the AOD. You’ll put a fortune in it to stand up to that engine. Go for a 4r70w transmission. You’ll need to upgrade the rear end too. A 8" rear can be upgraded for that power. I’d look for a 9" to put in. A lot of guys run 3.55 rear gears. There are online calculators where you can enter your details to get a idea for gear ratio. Good luck and have fun.
