OMG! I"m losing my patience with this motor!
I got it back from the machine shop, got the bottom end together, and am trying to get the push rod measurement. At 6.650 I get about an 1/8th inch sweep across the valve stem. If I go any longer or shorter, it gets me away from the ‘center’ of the valve stem.
But I don’t think I can get that exact length of push rod, over all length. I have modified a hyd lifter to be solid, and have a 12 inch dial caliper, so my numbers are pretty freaking close. The cam is only a .500 inch lift, with Flotek heads on a .030 over piston.
I’m not going racing. But I still want to get things as close to perfect as I can.
Thoughts on my numbers?
Smith Brothers pushrods will make any pushrods that you want and send them overnight. Very reasonable.
