Rarest GT-E?

The GTE that I had was one of one but only for color combo. It was cardinal red with saddle leather interior. I think the one of colors or the 4 speed cars would count more as rare. I really would like to see pictures of the white and the coral cars. Mr Pinkerton was super helpful when I first got that car. He loaded me up with all kinds of info on GTEs.

I started this thread a while ago. I found a very small picture of a white GT-E online. I would love to see a good picture of the white and coral GT-E’s. I just think the GT-E paint scheme with any factory color looks great. I think I have seen most of the colors except the two listed above.

Ps. Oldwood Cardnial red and saddle sounds like a beautiful combo. Have any pictures you could post?

The white one you saw did not come white from the factory – none did. For a long time we thought that 1 came from the factory, but it turned out not to be a true GT-E.

Thanks Jim. From the picture I saw as small as it was, white looked good. White shows the classsic line well on the 67-68’s. Jim earlier in the post on this thread it said there were two Calypso Coral GT-E’s. Were they W code or R code cars? It would be a standout in the R code. Calypso Coral, R code black hood stripe and scoop with argent. WOW :ylsuper: ! Now, anyone have a picture of a Calypso Coral GT-E that they can share?

Here ya go !

Wouldn’t Phil Parcells 428 mule be the rarest GT-E

Thanks Don. Nice Looking car. Love the GT-E’s! It looks like a nice vintage photo. The front plate looks longer than a standard U.S. plate, or are my eyes playing tricks? Does this car live outside of the United States?

Leon, you have a great point. Phil Parcells 428 mule could be the rarest GT-E.

The “white”(originally lime frost) one usually puts in an appearance at the Tulsa All Ford Show during the Shelby meet…it does look good in white!

Steven – Both Calypso Coral cars are Standards, not XR-7s, and both are 427s.
Jim

The rarest GT-E is the one that isn’t in my garage.

I beg to disagree. The “not in my garage” GT-E is the most common GT-E there is! The “I have one in my garage” GT-E is next most common. After that, it’s just rich people comparing the size of their portfolios! :stuck_out_tongue:

There are lots of rare GT-E’s. All of them in fact. Very few of them are not “one of one” based on options, DSO and colors.

I am not entirely certain about the math, but I have heard that all of the GT-Es and all of the G cars combined would not have filled even a single day of production in the Dearborn plant. That makes them all pretty rare.

Great point Royce.

I guess I can say great points. They are all rare, that’s why the GT-E’s and G’s are my favorite models.
Steven

Really? I’m more of a Kathy Ireland, Cindy Crawford, Brooke Shields kind of guy… :poke:

I’ll take another GT-E over any of those high maintenence models.

LOL, I’d probably take my first GT-E over any of those, also…they’re getting OLD!!!

My personal favorite “rare” GT-E is Don’s Vert project…took stones to cut that up!

Did he cut up a real GT-E? I wouldn’t think so but I’ve been wrong a few times.

Dunno if it was a real one, or not…anyone?

If it was, to the man with the cajones.

If not, well…I had always thought it was. But, been wrong a few times myself.
