StevenReally? I’m more of a Kathy Ireland, Cindy Crawford, Brooke Shields kind of guy…

It coulda been worse, he coulda said Twiggy.
Did he cut up a real GT-E? I wouldn’t think so but I’ve been wrong a few times.
It could have been a real one. I read on the other board (don’t know the thread, might have been car cloning) that he had a couple of GT-E titles from salvage. Maybe he saved a salvage GT-E and took it to another level. Real or not Don’s vert is one cool car.

Who’s Twiggy? That little guy from Buck Rogers?
NO no… she is ziggy little sister that didn’t get enough to eat.
Has anyone made a 68’ GT-E vert?
Don Rush is making one.
Here are some photo links to Don’s GT-E Vert. Project

Where IS Don?? I’m still curious if it was a real one to begin with…

I’ll let Don discuss the details if he so desires but his 68 convertible project does have a “W” engine code on the VIN tag.
Thanks, Jeff! That is AWESOME!!!
We have a more recent photo of Don’s GTE vert here someplace. It’s a side view. I will post it if I can find it.
OK, so I thought I saw a better picture then this before, but if you have xray glasses, you can make it out. Here is the link.

I have the “ultra rare” invisible one sitting in my driveway at the moment.
OldWood:
The GTE that I had was one of one but only for color combo. It was cardinal red with saddle leather interior. I think the one of colors or the 4 speed cars would count more as rare. I really would like to see pictures of the white and the coral cars. Mr Pinkerton was super helpful when I first got that car. He loaded me up with all kinds of info on GTEs.
I started this thread a while ago. I found a very small picture of a white GT-E online. I would love to see a good picture of the white and coral GT-E’s. I just think the GT-E paint scheme with any factory color looks great. I think I have seen most of the colors except the two listed above.
StevenPs. Oldwood Cardnial red and saddle sounds like a beautiful combo. Have any pictures you could post?
I’m sorry Steve. I just looked back at this thread and saw your reply.
I will try and remember and post pictures tommorow. I have them at the office. The interior really looked pretty good in that car but it was bad rusty outside. That is the main reason I sold and bought the R code. It was beyond my repair comfort level and I wanted a car I could restore myself.
It has gone to a good home with someone capable.

Ultra-rare? Why I would venture to say that’s the most common one of all! I have 40 or 50 of those myself. Lost count, you see.

Thanks OldWood, I’m looking forward to seeing the pictures. I have to say you have nice taste in Cougars. Selling a GT-E and buying a R code, some of us can only dream .
Steven
Good morning, keep dreaming. I got lucky.

HAHA, good one!!!
Here is a picture of the rusty GTE and my 69. The GTE was numbers matching 427, C6, 350 open, but only Cardinal Red saddle interior made, 66,000 miles. The interior really looks pretty good.
