Restoration of a one of one 67 GT

So I picked up quite a project… a 1967 cougar that needed a quarter panel, door, a roof and plenty of rust repairs and needs total overhaul of everything. But it’s a gt 390 4 speed and two tone carnal red with polar white painted roof with bench seat. Making it the only cougar like it a true one of one so I had to do it.

Here are some pictures of what I’ve done so far. Hopefully lots more to come soon with the help of nearby West coast classic cougars I’m able to keep this project rolling without delay.

Engine bay and dash painted starting to come along nicely!

Definitely going to be a unique Cougar when completed. You have already got most of the hard repairs done. Great job.

Looks good, what a cool project. Can’t wait to see that glory shot of the bench seat/4speed shifter.

Big Block, 4 Speed and a Bench Seat! Doesn’t get much cooler then that. It looks like your making good progress. She’ll be a fun one to drive for sure.

You’re making more progress than me! Mine been in the corner for 20 years. Keep up the progress.
1967 Gt/4speed w/ standard red interior.

That’s going to be a cool car when done. Looks like you’re doing a fantastic job. I see the Washington plates; do you live in Washington or did you snag something from under our noses here and take it somewhere else?

Jeff, I noticed an Oregon plate on his pickup, and he said he is close to WCCC. I bet he is in Northwest Oregon someplace.

I missed that, Neal. You’re probably right.

Yes I’m in Oregon city area picked it up in vancouver. I’m blessed to have an understanding wife so I get to put a couple hours a day into it. It also helps needing to get my shop space back so keeps me motivated. I also get to Wwcc about one a week since they are so close real nice to have that service here. I’ll keep the Picts coming and I’m sure I’ll need some advice soon on re assembl

I applaud people who have the patience to do such a major detailed restoration, since I am not one of those people!

Here is the Marti report for the car.

Finally got some painting done! Well since I’m a movie painter it look 3 try’s to get the paint on without bugs, debris, and runs but practice makes almost perfect.
Now on to the doors and fenders hood trunk on and on…

Wow…your moving right along!

Looks good to me!

That is a very neat Cougar.

Very nice. You’re doing a lot of good work there.

Just for grins, what is the paint code for “carnal red”?

WOW!!! What an exciting car!!! How cool…

She’s looking good. And it looks like you’ll be enjoying her by spring.
