More shenanigans going on over at MC? I see this evening that Rookie kids account is now closed…hadn’t personally noticed any out-of-line posts…???

Absolutely… I know EXACTLY what happened.
The self proclaimed “Super Moderator” on MCN abused his power yet again and banned Rookie permanently and LoHo for two weeks.
Back in the early summer he started a thread asking who’s going to Carlisle to partake in his car’s coming-out party. Several of us who were NOT going began to have a little bit of fun with the thread. The “fun” was nothing more than we used to have ALL THE TIME under Logan’s ownership, and the type of “fun” that made MCN a great place to congregate when it was in its heyday.
Super Mod didn’t like it and began deleting many posts and editing many others to the point that the comments (mostly mine) were taken WAY out of context. He even went so far as to call me “dillusional” and in no uncertain terms that if I didn’t like the way he was “running the site” I was better off going elsewhere.
So I did.
I haven’t posted on there since. I stayed on as a lurker while continuing to watch him inflate his ego further with all of the awards he’s won. It was also unfortunate that there were several threads requesting advice or info that I knew I could definitely contribute to.
So yes, I admit it. I created my alter ego “Rookie” and began posting on there a month ago. I didn’t say or do ANYTHING that wasn’t in good fun. Sure, some of my jabs were directed at him. That was the whole point of creating a 16 year old kid who so happened to also live in New Jersey. Every once in a while I’d post something “above” what a 16 year old who just registered would know, just to stir the pot further. I could tell it really had him on the ropes at times. I’m guessing he spent the entire day yesterday investigating everything until he discovered what was going on. I went to log in last night for an update and BOTH accounts were closed with NO explanation.
LET ME ASSURE EVERYONE HERE… these antics will NOT be taking place here. Honestly, they wouldn’t have taken place over there either had the situation after the sale of the site been different. It’s just a shame the site began its downward spiral soon after the ownership change.
My ONLY regret is that I didn’t accept the role of Moderator when it was first offered to me when Helena became the new Admin. Had I accepted, maybe things would have turned out differently. I’m sure he jumped at the offer without any hesitation.

I, for one, am disappointed to hear that there will be no antics here. I am an antics enthusiast, maybe an antics addict. I need my antics!
I tend to see multiple identities as a good thing. A guy might just have multiple personalities, and you know, having just one screen name would be discrimination. Yeah that’s it is discriminatory! LOL!
Seriously, if this isn’t fun, who needs it. I have all of the serious stuff I need in my life coming from every other corner of the world.
Finally, Bob may not know it but there are lots of people that have multiple screen names there, some simply because they forgot the password for the original one, others for more purposeful reasons. It will be interesting to see how far he will go to try to cleanse the group.
Perhaps I need to explain a little further. By “antics” I was referring to the practice of creating multiple screen names for the sole purpose of “malicious intent.”
That is probably the ONLY thing that Super Mod was correct on. 
How malicious can you be on a message board… Oh my.
The problem is that that board has so many years of accumulated tribal knowledge that it just can’t be allowed to fail. If you find your self in the bottom of a hole, the first thing you need to do is to stop digging.

It would be much better for them to fix that board than anything else. There are years of threads with tons of information that just can’t be easily duplicated. I tried to post some common sense for Bob to re-think it but of course he just locked the thread. I am surprised he didn’t just delete it. He makes it sound like he just caught two terrorists about to blow up a bridge.

His vague “they know what they did and the admins know what they did…” comment WITHOUT telling the whole board “what they did” just proves that he’s afraid to let everyone know because it really wasn’t the big deal he’s making it out to be.

I was wondering what I missed on the deleted posts. I figured it was something good. When I asked at the end of one of my posts I was told something like “it should be pretty clear” about what happened to “Rookie’s” account and posts. Heck I was going to reply " I’m a firefighter not a detective" 
.
Either way I enjoy both sites. I have seen changes at MC.net since Logan sold it. Those changes have not been drastic, at least not enough for me to stop visiting it.

Hey, T3, “closed” seems a tad long term to me… Is this permanent or a few days?
I believe T3’s is “closed” for a few weeks like mine is. However, according to “Supa Mod” this is T3’s second offense. And Supa seems to like to think in terms of baseball. 3 hasn’t told me how long his ban is.
I’m sure time will tell …
does that mean he’s going to become a SUPA hooligan too?
Was Bob always a moderator at MC.net? Or was it just since Logan sold it off? I also enjoy both forums but this one has more of a grassroots feel all forums used to have years ago. Things seem a bit uptight at the other place sometimes. Anyway funny shenanigans was fun to read. I’m still kinda new to both places and a bit ignorant knowing who’s who. LOL oh well.
A little history lesson… LOL! When I first signed on in Dec. 2002, Logan was VERY active since he was deep into his own Cougar. Also at that time he had two other moderators Chris and Rick. Rick was fantastic. He was ALWAYS there and kept the ship pointed in the right direction. Logan maintained an active role. Chris fell by the wayside at some point.
Logan sold his Cougar and Rick fell on financial hard times and sold off his fleet. That left Logan the sole survivor and he basically became an absentee Admin. It didn’t matter though because for YEARS we did a really good job policing ourselves. Logan was alway one “reported post” away, and he would step in if necessary. But those instances were very rare.
When Logan sold the site in December, the new Admin, Helena, contacted a few individuals based on Logan’s recommendations to serve as Mods going forward. I was contacted but declined which now is something that I regret. In fact, I even went so far as to nominate Bill Pratt (AKA: CatVert) and our VERY own Bill Basore. Royce was also contacted and he accepted. He chooses to maintain a quieter approach which is all the site really needed. I have a strong suspicion that I-Bob was offered the role after I turned it down and has since ruled with an iron fist.
Gone are the days of old when we could poke a little fun at each other. Anything even remotely directed at him is taken extremely seriously. And I’m thoroughly convinced that his goal is to piss off everybody with more knowledge and experience than he has so he can become the king of all things on that site.
Interesting history lesson. You were there. I have waded in pretty deep over there, we will see what happens. Hopefully things will work out. Logan at least was involved enough to know what was going on.

I hate to say this but I don’t expect we will hear anything constructive from her. It’s just a job to her and the easy way to do it is to go with the flow. Upsetting Bob will just make work for her. About the only good thing is that it will slow him down from doing silly stuff in the future. I know Bob well enough to know that he probably realizes that he should have taken a breather.
