Show us your Cat as it sits right now

Not every dealer used the frames back in the 60’s. But this would be a pretty cool addition to your deck lid! And it’s in Toledo. You could attach with adhesive tape for easier removal. Vintage Bountiful Motor Sales Metal Car Dealer Badge Emblem B74 | eBay

This is not a shot at Mopauly above. This is “in addition to"“ his comment: I never fail to laugh when guys go to a show, whether large or small, and then hop on a forum or social media group immediately following and complain how few Cougars were in attendance. Yet, their perfectly functioning and decent appearing Cougar sits in the garage instead of partaking in the activities.

Absolutely. If you’re not driving it, why own it? That is the reason I will probably never paint my 40,000 mile 67 4spd GT. Drive it like I stole it., Not afraid to set my flavored carbonated water can on it.

Congratulations! You have every reason to be happy. If attention is what you like, you’ll get it with your car. It is truly stunning.
I drive mine out in the woods or far away from people. As soon as I stop to pee, never fails, someone will be going by and stop to chat about the car.

We are all different and I admire people who are friendly and like to chat, amongst other things of course….anyways
Hope you enjoy your new car!!

I agree with you. I have 10k on mine in almost 5 years. Perfect car…and so much fun! Always drinking though…

Love the blue low fuel sensor lite. I’ve only ever seen the red on my eight. Thanks for that!

At Driven Garage getting improved.

The red and blue lenses are a feature of the 1967 XR7 check control panel.

I can’t believe that you have the top down, I guess you might not have a top. But you will are going to have a lot to clean on the interior.

Same here…I thought they’d all be blue until the other day I was looking through Royce’s 68’ build thread and saw ‘red low fuel light’.
Side note, I heard ‘68 has a red ‘hi beam’ indicator, also. My ‘67 is blue.
Edit: wanted to mention, while looking through that build thread, I noticed his copper radio strap. It was different from mine, which had a 90 degree bend at the top.
Once I bent it back, I am almost certain that the reception is better. It was already good though, with my 8 foot antenna.

Yup, easiest way to tell if the xr7 instrument cluster is a 1967 or a 1968 is the HIGH BEAM color. ‘68 is red.

Bill, I realize this is long overdue:
Thank you for your write up on rebuilding these fuel senders. I did this back in 2020 with your guidance-unbeknownst to you!

It’s an awesome feature. Thank you!

I second that statement.

Here’s my July 24th, 2024 picture at speed. I’ve owned this car since 1980 and it was the first time I seen it function. Yes it’s pitted. Wisconsin will do that. I’ll never change it. It all motivates me to get one of the Texas ‘67’s on the road. Southern chrome, gotta love it.

Since 1980 is great! Too much love to let that stuff go. I hear ya…I’m much more into the original equipment, weather-checked or not.

We got this car in ‘85 and it’s finally leaking power steering fluid-everywhere!
