Bedded down for winter with four of his siblings. However, as soon as the holidays are over, it will move into the working area of the shop and get a top to bottom, end to end, inside and out detail job. We’ve been invited to display in an invitation-only display at the indoor ISCA show here in Cleveland, the last weekend in March. This thing racked up a ton of miles this season in all kinds of weather. So it will need some work.
Yes it is they used same paint code as 1970 comp green but added metalic in 71 and thatmade the color much diffrent. This was matched 100% with the original paint during restoration.
I found this one on FB Marketplace early December last year and brought it home. I had a 67 standard in high school (1980) with a 3 speed on the floor and no power anything, loved that car!
So Greeny originally went to live in Utah with styled steel wheels and Goodrich Silvertown radial whitewalls! Wide oval makes you think Firestone, but those were not radials and we heard from Kevin Marti that Ford used the term for other 70 series tires too. I like to see cars wearing all the original colors like yours - but that’s just me. $5k was a pretty big chunk of change for a car back in 1969!
And even if it didn’t slide off the road, it would have been rusted through after 5 winters in northern Ohio. It’s good that it’s wintering inside at the spa!
