Want to upgrade my 1969 front suspension. What did you use?

Those of you who upgraded your front suspension, whose product did you use? Conventional or coil over? How has your experience with it been? I’m getting ready to buy my front suspension and I wanted to get a little real world input before I buy. Thanks.

I hate to answer a question with a question, but what is your intended use?

Track car?
Daily driver?
Sunny weekend car?

Does your car already have power steering and disk brakes, or are you looking to add those options?

My '69’s suspension set up works well for my purposes, but I wouldn’t recommend it for everyone.

Looks like all the answers to this one are on MC.net

Conventional. Get the Boss 302 suspension manual and do that. Easy, cheap, and it works.

… and use Koni or SPAX adjustable shocks

I like the new coil overs that fit where the original spring goes but I haven’t used them

I have 1 1/2" lower coils and knois on 3 cars and kyb’s on the 4th. I use poly bushes (local poly designed specifically for Fords so the bushes are chamfered and the correct stiffeness, unlike the generic red ones)

One of the best changes I made was to run 17 x 8" wheels with 235/45 x 17 tyres. Still have a good ride and great handling

Export brace is a must do
