I finally found a 4.25" convex mirror that fits properly into the mirror housing to replace the existing flat mirror.

Removing the old mirror was simple in applying shipping tape over the mirror, hitting in the middle to fracture the mirror, and then use a plastic scraper to remove the remaining glued fragments.
Although not perfect, this mirror provides a wider view than the original flat mirror.
