That’s an oem sender. Looks rebuildable
I don’t like the heat at all, but I scraped and painted the entire bottom of the car!
Brand new, lost the receipt
Not sure if you got an answer to this, but the yellow marks are assembly marks. If I remember correctly, my original 2.79:1 had them still on a few locations. I bought a new 3.80:1 traction lock and after a year of running still has the yellow marks from setting lash (on the teeth). You can tell your gear ratio by marking a location on your driveshaft u-joint and turning the tire one revolution and counting the revolutions of the drive shaft. For the above, one revolution equaled 2.79 turns. That should match your door data tag for gear ratio, or on your Marti report if you got one.
New tank and Fuel line in and all hooked up! You’ll need to take your parking brake lever off here, at what im pointing at, then take your rear wheel off and snake it in through your rear wheel well. Other than that, I did it without disconnecting anything else.
I also installed a new parking brake front cable because mine snapped. I forgot to take pictures, but it was boring.
I ordered v8 front drums and brakes and they were bigger than my mixed and matched originals. They fit my spindles just fine. i re-used the original hardware because it looked good, and the parts CJ pony sent me were trash. (A decision ill either enjoy or regret, because the pins that hold the brakes in were a little short).
I’ve also taken the liberty to clean up my front torque thrusts!
Thanks for reading and stay tuned!
Ah that makes sense! It could very well be the original 2.79 because I can top out at 70 in second gear! haha
Heyo!
I took a long break over the summer and now that it’s under 110 degrees I can get back to work on my cat.
I had somebody tell me that running airshocks is bad for the trunk floor so I picked up a set of gucci shocks!
I also found out why I couldn’t air them up, somebody (probably me), crimped the air line in the bumper bolt (probably for the better lol)
thanks for reading and stay tuned!
So if you’ve been following along, my driver’s side quarter glass has been kinda hanging in there because it came off the track.
Window finally rolls up and down!
I got the front shocks in aswell!
If you want to turn your cougar into a mustang, try taking a corner fast with blown front shocks and brand new rear shocks!
More to come!
I need to replace the fronts on my 69- on a decent flat piece of road they are fine, but if there are any ruts, ( like around the stadium on 25 here in Denver) the car wants to be in all the lanes at once. It’s a real buzz KILL- The air shocks are stiff in the rear, and the fronts have broken rubber around the upper mounting bracket. Not a good handling car at all, at this time.
Hopefully it isn’t yours and the cops are there to break up a car theft ring
Must be that mew show called
“COPy-Cats”
Even has your personal license plate. LOL
Happy new years everyone! It’s that time of the year again!
I was getting too comfortable so it’s time to disassemble my whole car! Again!
I have a big grind ahead with what i have planned. I managed to remove all of my trim without breaking it!
Organizing the parts i take off it key. Luckly, there isn’t as many nuts and bolts as when i took off my front end.
Stay tuned
