I won’t show the prep work so as not to upset the squeamish amongst us. :joy:

No worries about that - I’ve already been ‘squeamed’ out looking at the photo ( 4th previous ) where your circular saw ‘did a number’ on the grey tote lid ! Ouch. Been there / done that !

I was cutting up a bunch of deck boards for scrap on that step stool.

Troy Traffic Jam car show today.

Big Motor City car shows hit different. Those are 3 Mustang GTDs and a Corvette ZR1x. Both Mustang and Corvette teams have talks at the show today. I suspect Corvette guys will be reveling in their Nurburgring time they recently announced.

Back home at dove in to the taillights. Rounded up all the various new and old bits and got after it.

New grilles, mounting studs, rubber bumper, gaskets and LED panels. Old housing, screws for the grilles, red lenses and clear prismatic reflector element.

interested in how those light panels light up compared to a single led bulb.

Ive seen a mustang version years ago but IMO lacked the brightness.

I replaced the incandescent bulbs with the WCCC plasma LED bulbs a few years ago. Marked difference in light output. I’ve still been invisible to cars behind me and that’s got me worried.

I know this sounds silly , but when following a red car , the red stop lights are difficult to see in the daylight

When being followed by inattentive drivers, all cars of all colors, shapes, and sizes are difficult to see.

Our work trucks have at least 4-6 flashing strobes on the rear and a full light bar on the roof and they get run into way more then they should!

Damn! I guess I’m screwed! :joy:

Last night I did the initial low beam headlight positioning. Cat eyes?

Very cool! Do you recall the reference, for how to set the lights up? Is it in the body section of repair manual? At first blush here, are you happy with the quality of light? Hard to determine if the “projection” meets expectations, sitting in the drive way. I had a thread a while ago now on the current thought on the new lights, these look like a good choice!

I started with the procedure Dapper uses but it was imcomplete. I pursued YouTube certification with a minor in the Googler and found some procedures I liked. I used a combination of a tape measure, my laser distance device, painters tape, a torpedo level, painters tape, and a Sharpie. The light output is great. I have a good spread of coverage and a good field of light. I’ll get the high beams in this week.

Matches what I had envisioned perfectly when I ordered them. Not for everyone but I like them.

Looks good! :+1:t2:

I love the light output but not the style. I’m very picky on my light style tho. I want to upgrade my f250 headlights to a modern projection led but I hate all the currently styles. Doesn’t fit the truck IMO. Same for my cougar. So far the only ones I like are the led lights that Holley offers but they are NOT cheap!
