Ah the joys of visiting the relatives in Wanker County, eh Al?
As long as we’re passing along recipes here is an awesome Beer Dip. It only takes 5 minutes to make, but there’s enough there to feed an army of beerhaulics!
BEER DIP INGREDIENTS:
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese softened
1 (1 ounce) package Ranch dressing mix
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup beer ( I use either Sam Adams Boston Lager or Killians Irish Red) (OK, the recipe says 1/3 cup beer, but I use (at least) 1/2 cup)
mix it all together (beer last) and put in the fridge for at least 3 hours…
Cape Cod kettle cooked sweet and spicy jalepeno chips are pefect to dip into the beer dip!
Lock the doors Bundy…all those wanker county relatives are gonna want some of this!
Given.
However, with those two particular dishes, the nastier tasting, the better! Schlitz WILL be noticeable over the taste of most varieties of shrimp; even tiger shrimp. Pork brats can be loaded with spices; and again, you’ve got to make sure the beer is tasted - otherwise it’s a waste of money.
OBTW - it’s a good thing that my BBQ has a “side-burner”; SWMBO took one sniff of the MHL and said “You’re not boiling that $#!& in MY kitchen!” So, I took the pot full of brats and beer out to the BBQ.
And the Sam Adams “Winter Harvest” went in my belly ![]()
I just love happy ending! ![]()
THE KING HAS ENTERED THE BUILDING

LMAO…select isn’t bad for a “low cal” beer…
Filled my fridge today with Leinenkugels Sunset Wheat, since my local supplier hasn’t seen fit to stock the Summer Shandy yet…jarkholios. LOL, all in due time.
Thats a bunch of Bud. You ah… you got some parts to clean or something? ![]()
LMAO!!! well, no, but the garage kinda needs swept…there’s Sam Adams chillin’ if you take the trash out too!
Here is what the Irish drink when Guinness is too light for them:
Glad to see they got the camera focus correct:

Best to drink it when hungry since it fills you up quickly it is so heavy. Putting it on top of a heavy meal can cause pain.

I just had a huge ribeye and baked potato, but…DAMN! I am hungry again!I want Some!
Had one of these the other night, pretty good beer.
Want to go and tour the brewery.

Nothing new here in Yuma; just quaffing down a Sam Adams Summer Ale.
I’m so Glad someone started a beer thread!!!
I live in West-By-God Virginia, and Yuengling porter is one of my standbys, it is almost as good as the satandard in my book Guinness. Always better on tap. When I was in Montana Last Summer I discovered Black Butte, it is a Porter out on Oregon. Also Pigs Ass Porter isn’t too bad either! ![]()
Yuengling rocks, though I can’t buy it here in OK. Next door neighbor flies into coal-country often, and brings back a couple cases to share…maybe that’s what makes it good, the fact that I can’t get it at will…
For those of you who cant get Leinikugels Summer Shandy. http://www.shocktopbeer.com/s/index.php/our-beers/lemon-shandy/
Not quite as good as Shandy, it seems a little “sweeter” to me, BUT a tasty beer!
Its got Scamps stamp O’ approval.
Sorry to rain (pee cheap beer) on your parade guys, but any US-produced domestic beer has so much preservative in it that it gives me a headache! That’s why I stick to my German beers. German ‘purity law’ does not allow preservatives! As such, Warsteiner, St Pauli, Becks, Bittbuger, and others et al, get my nod. If I must ‘slum it’ and drink Domestic, most of the Canadians, Sam Adams Boston Lager or Yuengling will get the job done (despite the headache)… I absolutely refuse to drink a mainstream US beer like anything from Anheuser Busch, Miller or the like.
I was at a NASA social media event at Langley on 8/3, and was pleasantly surprised to find that they have a craft brewery right outside the gate. And they serve it at the bar in the visitor’s center.
Langley is basically’s NASA’s hot rod shop, so I loved talking to those folks about going fast and beer and whatnot. The local craft brew Amber selection was pretty good stuff. ![]()
Too cool, Andy.
It was too cool. The people at NASA are just absolutely on fire about what they’re tasked with doing. I’m sitting here sipping a brew from Portland called “Spine Tingler” as I’m a little under an hour out from the MSL Curiosity landing on Mars. In a few minutes, we’ll see what happens. As a mechanical “grease under the nails” type guy, I understand that stuff happens and that they’ll already have a lot of success just by getting the rover that far. But I really hope they stick the landing. And I’m all in with good beer hoping for it.
, successful landing…done on a hollyweird sound-stage, no doubt…
…can’t wait to see the pics!
